Cold calling is the process where by you call a prospective customer without any relationship between you and the customer and without any prior appointment where by the prospective customer is not expecting your call, if your presentation is good on phone if the customer is satisfied by your verbal presentation he or she would buy your product or services. If your presentation is not that interesting so you cannot close the deal. More over you shall target those customers only who are really interested in buying your product or services.

Cold calling is the process of approaching prospective customers or clients, typically via telephone, who was not expecting such an interaction.

Process of cold calling: Target your customers or clients who really require your services for this you can refer your own data and then try to call them on their land line and give your perfect introduction and more over your designation because high end clients are always interested to speak to high end people only and then about your company and then about your product or services.

If these 3 stages are good think that your deal is almost all closed. After your deal is closed next is rehashes where by you are asking your respective client to give you any lead or refer any of their friends or colleagues.

One thing which always works cent percent is "Timing & KISS n C Rule". You must be aware that now a days people are so much bugged up with calls generally from call centers to opt for various services like getting credit cards etc. So a cold call with to the Point Conversation works mostly fine.

KISS n C Rule : This helps you to draft exact matter you want to convey.

K=Keep

I=It

S=Short

S=Simple

and

C=Clear

Initializing a call :

  • Good Homework always helps. Know in advance about the person ( His Designation, Age, Requirements, Gender, Name, Work Timings etc).
  • Quick Hellos. Be Courteous to ask if the person can lend you just a min or two ( Sometimes they can be driving or in a meeting)
  • Offer Your Product / Services and the competitive Prices for that..a Guarantee / Replacement Warranty is added advantage

    (again a market research about the existing trend will help you step over other competitors. Always be 100% aware about your Products/Services, functionalities, +ves as well as drawbacks.)
  • If the person shows some interest, then you can Introduce your company Brand & other details.

Concluding the call :

  • Never forget to ask if the person want to receive Email / Literature about your proposal.
  • Ask when you can contact back.
  • If your call ends to be Negative.... donít loose heart! At least you can leave an impression about yourself on that person. you can say it was nice talking to you... few compliments etc and request if you can still send some Email /Literature so that if in case your company comes up with better proposals, you can inform the person.

A cold call is very important as rests of the steps are based on it. No one should take it lightly. Good Homework is a MUST.
