I am working in consultancy based in chennai and we are finding difficult to source the candidates for the door to door sales for the salary range of 5000 to 6000.
I have tried to source the candidates in slum, housing board, collecting database from colleges, ITI Institutes etc and sending the call letters. Even i tried to get the candidates from job fair and campus recruitment. But nothing has worked out.
Kindly share your experience and knowledge to solve my constraint.

hi, if you have any database try to reach the persons on the database. else go to colleges and meet the coordinators and inform them of your services and requirements. in my previous company, we were able to do this (at the cost of my job!!!)
but you can get decent candidates. else try the university job section at madras university, annamalai study centre (Egmore), bharath Post graduate college (mylapore). if nothing works out approach 12th students who have finished school and are doing correspondence course. you can train them for communication skills.

You can follow these,
1. Approach few colleges and get a sanction to paste a job offer in their NOTICE BOARD
(Students will be interested in doing such jobs as they get a good sum as their PKT
MONEY)
2. People who are out of college wont enter into such job
3. Catch hold of people who are doing correspondence course (target distance education department and they can provide a goood DB

I agree with suggestions from both responders. I would like to add. Important is call meeting and communicate. Agree on demerits of the job initially but later stress on metrits like earning, Sales Experience etc. Pocket Money for those who don't get sufficient pocket money from home. You may add the list which may hit the probable candidates.

I think college goers and one more idea is if you make it as an part time job like every sundays peope would prefer. Nowadays people has addicted to social networks so put ads in such networks like facebook,twitter,blogs...

Place newspaper ads in Regional Language Newspaper it's the simplest way to get Lead Database. Go for deal with AD agency and constanlt put ads (each week), so the Trust Factor & Brand Improve and you'll get constant updated database.
