Dear Friends,
This is a very common question that needs an answer, for the Sales Team management is not an easy responsibility. There are many aspects than that actually meet the eye and sales is the only process in the whole organisation that depends on many factors like market moods, mindset of the salesforce, need of the hour, marketing strategies.
Lets find an answer to all the questions that are raised being a indispensible but humble sales guy .

Remember, either you can motivate a person by exploiting his/her greed or fear. Use either the tool looking to the characteristics of a person who works in sales department. Develop leadership quality

Hi Sharad, That would be the religious way of handling a team. Isn’t there a better and innovative way out?

Dear cp10279;
Remember, every human being is unique, every sales team is unique, every situation unique, hence the strategy will change every time, with every sales team and individual. Case to case sales team handling technique is different.
I gave you basic rules of motivating people/sales team. If you really have problem in handling your sales team you may contact me on my mobile 09825847733.
If you have only academic interest on the subject, there are several books available in the market and some authors have described different technique to motivate and handle sales team. You may refer those books.
Thanking you.
His Blessings;
Sharad

I am agree with this most of the company using two things they to handle team using their fear and their greed but this is absolutely shows extract the guy.But in long run that guy will not grow and he will not learn any thing in his life except just selling.In long run company also suffer.

Dear Mr. Upadhyaya;
Love!
To recognize donkey a donkey and horse a horse is the responsibility of a team leader. Sometimes white skin horse, thinks himself a donkey. The team leader need to show him his real face. But remember donkeys are rarely converted in to horse, so if some one has that patient and zeal to experiment, it is fine. But these days most companies prefer to buy horses with good price. But some company buy donkeys at lower price and expect work of horse and finally go frustrated and blame on others.
I hope you will get the massage.
His Blessings;

Good manager should work with his EQ(Emotional Quotient), MQ(Motivation), and IQ(Intelligence) to manage a sales team.

Dear Chetan, I am total agreement with what you say, however getting into technicalities of the subject we often oversee a very general factor so to say the sixth sense ( Common Sense). When an employee complains of a personal problem or a family problem and is unable to perform due to these factors which Quotent should we use ?
Do we still look at him as a Man Power ?
Even good race horses go sick or are injured as is the case with donkeys. Can we ever expect a donkey to do a horse's job or vice versa ?
Do we put those old timers to sleep?
